After spending many years learning from various trainers (ie.Gordon McKinlay in Australia, Mike McEntire in United States, Bob Mayhew and David Deptford in UK and many others), some of who he would consider to be amongst the best trainers in the world, Roy is now able to train horses for different disciplines for example reining, pleasure, dressage, cowboy dressage, spanish classica etc.
In 2000 he became the BRHA Rookie Champion and winner of the season and winner of the WES high point reining cup.
He is UK affiliate of A.Q.H.A.
While living in Spain for the 7 years Roy developed a passion for spanish horses and carried on with natural horsemanship methods and reining skills to train these majestic horses to achieve the same results. And have successfuly proved these methods work on any breeds and types of horses for any disciplines including classical spanish dressage or traditional english as well as western.

To be a good horseman/horsewoman you need to build up a good partnership with your horse, based on trust, respect and willigness to learn. Work on the horses confidence, always recognize and reward every slightest try but at the same time be in control . It is not the amount of time you spend with your horse but the quality of work you do with them. Horses learn by repetition and you need to give them clear signals to make them understand what you want from them.
By using pressure and release methods, you still have to treat every horse as a individual, picking up on possible problems and be prepared to a adjust your program any time.
Drawing upon a lifetime of skills Roy is able to make available his knowledge, experience and love of working with horses that make this type of riding a pleasurable experience for all.
